Sim & Son joins Funeral Partners to meet high demand in Glasgow

Prestigious Glasgow-based Funeral Directors Sim & Son has joined the Funeral Partners family to continue its impressive growth.

Former owner Steven Sim worked for family-owned funeral businesses across Glasgow for many years as a driver/bearer, Funeral Director, and funeral manager.

With wide-ranging experience and a strong local reputation, Steven set out as a sole Funeral Director and founded Sim & Son, Knightswood, in 2003.

The business quickly received demand from all over Glasgow, so Steven employed experienced staff and opened other branches in Bearsden and Milngavie.

In 2017, Sim & Son purchased the former Temple Anniesland Police Station, which was refurbished into a contemporary funeral home and head office.

The size and location of the new premises allowed Steven and Shona Sim, who started working in the family business in 2016, to focus on all aspects of funerals, eventually closing their other three branches and moving to the head office.

Sim & Son is the fourth Scottish brand to join Funeral Partners and has continued to provide the highest standard of service to its clients and build on its strong roots in the community.

Sam Kershaw, CEO of Funeral Partners, said: “Steven and Shona have built an excellent reputation for high standards, quality of service and first-class facilities in Glasgow West End. Their business values and principles align well with our own, making them an excellent addition to our family of businesses.

“I am delighted that both Steven and Shona will continue to work within the business together with their well-respected team. We look forward to supporting and investing in Sim & Son.”
