Footballing fundraiser featuring star names coming to Brisbane Road

An all-star charity football match which has raised a total of more than £110,000 for a pioneering children’s charity is heading to the home of Leyton Orient.

Goals 4 GOSH is a footballing fundraiser consisting of an annual football match where proceeds from the event go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital’s (GOSH) Children’s Charity (Registered Charity No.1160024).

Ahead of the fourth instalment of the match on 26 May at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park stadium, a Goals 4 GOSH XI are taking on a team of Ex Pro’s in match dubbed The Warm-Up at Brisbane Road on 28 April, following Tottenham Hotspur’s Women’s Super League fixture.

Tickets for The Warm-Up are £5 for adults, and completely free for under 16’s.

Amongst the star names scheduled to appear are internet sensations Yung Filly and Angry Ginge, Gogglebox star George Baggs plus many more.

The Ex-Pro’s team is due to feature former Premier League stars including Henri Lansbury and Anton Ferdinand, as well as ex-England Lioness Lianne Sanderson. Former Orient heroes Dean Cox and Kevin Lisbie are also due to lace up their boots.

Goals 4 GOSH is spearheaded by Jamie Groves, Regional Development Director at Funeral Partners and his friend Charlotte Styles, with the support of their homes across London including Gillman Funeral Service.

Jamie said: “When we had this idea, we thought it would be a one-off event which would be great fun and raise some money for charity.

“Nobody ever thought it would grow as big as it has.

“We have raised more than £110,000 in the last three years, with the 2023 game raising an incredible £46,731 alone.

“Everyone is really looking forward to The Warm-Up and bringing Goals 4 GOSH to Brisbane Road.”

Both Jamie and Charlotte have now been made official GOSH Charity volunteer ambassadors as a thank you for their tireless fundraising endeavours.

They are also Board Members of GOSH Charity’s Tick Tock Club – a giving club for people about children’s healthcare who have embarked on an ambitious appeal to fund the new Critical Care Unit within the hospital’s state-of-the-art Children’s Cancer Centre.
