The Elizabeth Way & Company Community Assistance Programme was launched earlier this year and is designed to assist projects within three miles of their funeral home in Stamford Street, Mossley.
They have continued their outstanding community work by giving grants to three fantastic local causes benefiting local residents, children and wildlife.
Following the third round of applications, the Brunswick Dam Conservation Group, Safe Space Wellbeing Lab and 1st Mossley Scouts, Cubs and Beavers have all received grants.
The conservation group will use their funds for tools and equipment to maintain the upkeep of a local mill pond, which is home to a variety of wildlife including a kingfisher. The Safe Space Wellbeing Lab will use their grant to train a group of local bereaved people to support others in the community in similar situations, while the scout group are funding a trip to Summit Up Climbing Centre for more than 40 youngsters.
In total, ten local organisations have received grants from the fund in 2024, with the team at Elizabeth Way & Company Funeral Directors, part of the Funeral Partners network, committed to supporting more groups in 2025.
Funeral Director Ben McCutcheon said he had thoroughly enjoyed creating links with groups in the area.
He said: “The Community Assistance Programme has been a brilliant way for us to connect with our community.
“There are so many groups out there doing crucial work and they need the support of local businesses and the community to help fund them.
“We want these grants to be the start of an ongoing relationship with them, and I hope we continue to stay in touch in the coming months and years and can support them further.
“It has been great to get closer to the needs of our local community and to have built relationships with ten amazing local groups and organisations this year I am already excited to get going in 2025 to see what else we can do with the Community Assistance Programme in Mossley.”
